Startup Sphere Weekly #31
A SaaS for Amazon making $27,000/month. ALSO: A CRM tool selling for $1,025,000.
Hey it’s Vlad,
welcome back to Startup Sphere, a 5-minute weekly digest about online businesses selling for life-changing amounts of money.
Before we get into this week’s newsletter, I have a quick announcement 👇
Announcement
I am working on releasing a business idea market research tool. The product will be a database of services scraped from websites like Upwork and Fiverr.
Users will be able to search, rank, and filter profitable business ideas, empowering founders to launch their next business idea with confidence.
The product will be priced at $99, but I am offering over 50% off for users who request early access today.
If I don’t end up launching the tool, you will be refunded. So this is completely risk-free.
Weekly Rundown
Amazon discount SaaS
Asking Price: $325,000
TTM Revenue: $332,000
TTM Profit: $282,000
I like this business because it is built in the extremely lucrative online shopping niche. The business for sale is a company that focuses on Amazon discounts and freebies.
The company has multiple assets. Firstly, they have software built that scans and tracks Amazon for product price decreases, pricing errors, discounts, etc. The company also has a community, likely on Discord, where they announce the discounts.
There are also multiple opportunities to monetize. Currently, the business makes money via affiliate sales (Amazon has a large affiliate program). I also think there is an opportunity to introduce a paid community that would offer exclusive deals to paying subscribers.
The business makes $23,000/month, most of which is profit. I think this business is a good buy, especially at only a 1x profit multiple.
WordPress themes and plugins
Asking Price: $445,000
TTM Revenue: $141,000
TTM Profit: $119,000
The business for sale is a company that builds products for WordPress, mainly WordPress themes and plugins.
The company has been around since 2013 and has published over 360 WordPress themes for various industries.
This seems like a great opportunity for someone looking for a well-established, risk-free business. WordPress powers 70% of the website, so the market for this business is large.
There is a good opportunity here to introduce a high-ticket offer, where you design custom WordPress websites for clients. This would be a good way to funnel potential customers from the low-cost option (themes, plugins) to a higher ticket, custom solution.
Competitors include themeforest.net.
CRM for roofing businesses
Asking Price: $1,025,000
TTM Revenue: $202,000
TTM Profit: $187,000
This business is a great example of how to make money by introducing automation to a blue-collar industry.
The business for sale is a CRM designed for roofing businesses.
The company helps roofing businesses streamline processes, improve operations, etc. The software also helps roofing businesses make more money, but capturing more leads and implementing automatic follow-ups.
The above makes the business an easy buy for roofing companies. Owners of these companies are already often very busy, so it is a great pitch when you can save time and make them more money.
This is also a well-established industry that will be around forever, so this business is virtually risk-free.
