Announcement

Last week I announced my idea for a market research tool for business ideas based on data scraped from Fiverr.

I got a couple of preorders, so I’m starting to work on the project and hope to get it out to the pre-orders within the next month.

Let’s get into this week’s business rundown 🫡

Weekly Rundown

Rank-boosting service for gamers

Asking Price: $150,000
TTM Revenue: $255,000
TTM Profit: $55,000

This might be one of the most interesting listings I’ve come across.

The business for sale is a service for competitive gamers. The company offers gamers “rank advancement“ services. This seems to include everything from strategic insight to just having someone play on your account on your behalf.

The gaming niche is so big, so it makes sense to me that services like this exist. Many games have extremely devoted fanbases (League of Legends is an example). These users are always looking to get better and rank up, and it seems like they are willing to pay for it.

I think this business is virtually risk-free. The industry will be around for a long time, and there will always be new games that people want to rank up in.

The business gets close to 10,000 visitors every month and has an email list with over 7,500 subscribers.

Competitors include Boosting Market, BoostRoyal, and EloBoost24.

Scrum master bootcamp

Asking Price: $200,000
TTM Revenue: $1,280,000
TTM Profit: $144,000

Tech boot camps have been growing in popularity, since they can provide customers with the information needed for a job in tech, at a fraction of the price compared to university.

The business for sale is a boot camp specifically for aspiring Scrum Masters.

The business was started 2 years ago but recently started growing in revenue, hitting as much as $165,000 in a single month. I am not sure if this is enough history for the business to be confident in its ability to grow further.

I’ve been seeing a lot of “break into a tech job“ influencers getting popular on TikTok. A business like this would be a good opportunity to partner with those influencers since they can promote this boot camp as a way to break into tech.

Overall, I think this is a lucrative niche, but I think it’s worth talking to the current owners about what they did to grow, and where they see the future of this business going.

SaaS for Amazon and Walmart sellers

Asking Price: $350,000
TTM Revenue: $251,000
TTM Profit: $83,000

The company for sale is SellerMobile - a SaaS platform for Walmart and Amazon sellers.

The company aims to help sellers make more money and increase efficiency by setting up automation, inventory analytics, product re-pricer, and more.

The company was founded in 2011 and has served over 30,000 customers. This is a solid track record and shows promise for the niche and the business.

The business also offers plans at multiple price points, ranging from $20/month to $150,000/month.

Something to note is that the profit margins are around 33%, which seems low to me for a SaaS. This is something worth asking the current business owner(s) about.
