Startup Sphere Weekly #39
A B2B SaaS selling for $1.4 million. Also: an e-commerce brand selling for $240,000.
Hey it’s Vlad,
welcome back to Startup Sphere, a 5-minute weekly digest about online businesses selling for life-changing amounts of money.
Let’s get right into this week’s listings ⤵️
Weekly Rundown
Horoscope newsletter
Asking Price: $33,000
TTM Revenue: $8,000
TTM Profit: $3,000
A couple of weeks ago I featured an AI-powered horoscope business. This seems like a really interesting niche with lots of opportunities to build and grow in the space.
This business is a horoscope newsletter with 9,000 subscribers, making over $2,000/month in revenue.
The stats on the newsletter list don’t blow me away, with only a 20% open rate. I think if this list was cleaned of inactive users it would be much more valuable.
This newsletter would be valuable as part of a funnel promoting a larger horoscope product, maybe similar to the AI-powered horoscope business I recently featured.
The newsletter is growing through Facebook ads, which would be valuable for the new owner to have insight into and understand what ads work for growing the newsletter.
Nootropics e-commerce brand
Asking Price: $240,000
TTM Revenue: $114,000
TTM Profit: $67,000
Nootropics is an interesting niche I stumbled upon on Reddit a while ago. Nootropics are basically brain supplements and cognitive enhancers. People take them in any combination to get an edge on sleep, clarity of thought, creativity, etc.
The business for sale is a nootropics e-commerce store. They offer a variety of products. One of their unique offerings is a nootropics dropper.
The market seems promising as well, with the store getting 30 million organic views in the last 180 days. The listing also mentions that the brand has run multiple effective campaigns with TikTok and Instagram influencers.
Competitors include Thesis Nootropics, First Person Nootropics, and Alpha Brain.
B2B ad tech platform
Asking Price: $1,400,000
TTM Revenue: $312,000
TTM Profit: $125,000
I am a fan of B2B SaaS since they aim to solve problems for businesses, who often have the money to pay for solutions.
The business on sale is an ad tech platform that helps companies launch and optimize multi-channel ads. They also offer other features, like click map analytics.
The pricing starts at $90/month and goes up to $239/month.
I think this is a great business to own because it is easy to show your target audience exactly how they are going to make their money back. More ads = more eyeballs = more revenue.
I will say, the sale price is pretty high, at an 11.5x multiple.
The business for sale is Adline.com.
